Inside Vizzcast: A Broadcast and Podcast Studio in Midtown Manhattan

I built Vizzcast as a purpose-built podcast and broadcast studio in New York City, designed to bring broadcast-level production into a dedicated, controlled environment.

The studio is a 2,250 sq ft multi-room space in Midtown Manhattan on West 29th Street, with three studios and a dedicated DTL broadcast room for live crosses to networks worldwide. It was built to handle more than podcasting, supporting interviews, branded content, and general filming, based on the type of work I’ve been doing for years through my freelance company, Mixel.

Two of the studios feature full 5 m × 5 m overhead lighting grids, with a third using a 3 m × 3 m grid. Acoustic panels are suspended throughout the ceilings to deliver clean, consistent sound across all setups. Each space has been designed with a different visual tone in mind. Studio One uses white walls, a 180-degree blackout curtain, and movable panels for flexibility. Studio Two is neutral and understated. Studio Three is green, designed for a warmer, more relaxed look.

The DTL studio is integrated into the space for live broadcast contribution, with an 85-inch display and a range of pre-recorded city backdrops, including Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the United Nations. The studio supports live transmission via LiveU over a dedicated 2 Gbps fiber connection, with Zoom available and Dejero support being added.

The space is set up to support a range of use cases. Podcasters producing ongoing shows can work in a consistent, controlled environment. Corporate teams can film branded content and interviews. Broadcast contributors can connect live to networks. The infrastructure also supports fast file transfers, with the ability to move large volumes of data quickly when required.

I’ve been working in New York since 2013, filming high-end interviews and productions for programs like 60 Minutes, BBC HARDtalk, and Talk to Al Jazeera. Vizzcast brings that experience into a single, purpose-built studio, designed to deliver the same level of production in a controlled and repeatable way.

The goal is simple. Provide a space where production quality is consistent, setups are efficient, and the environment supports the level of work clients expect when something is going to air or represent their brand.

Vizzcast is now open and available for bookings.
